Employment Opportunities
A Research Assistant is required to assist the research team on the Home lands Project. This is a three year ARC qualitative study that aims to facilitate transnational internet television production and exchange by young people of refugee backgrounds living in Melbourne. The resulting data will provide insights into the impact of such programs on identity, settlement and belonging for young people from displaced backgrounds and the potential for such programs to support positive settlement. This is an umbrella organisation that seeks to streamline the volunteer job market. - The Careers and Employment office at La Trobe University has a volunteering program to increase student’s awareness of their community and to provide them with an opportunity to enhance their generic skills. There are 5 volunteering options that have been setup under this program in partnership with Volunteers of Banyule. One of these provides students with an opportunity to work with Somali refugees via a homework program or adults via assistance with basic computer skills.
