The teams of the Graduate Research School
The Graduate Research School (GRS) comprises five specialist teams that are dedicated to the different stages and requirements of the graduate researcher journey.
Applications, Enrolment and Candidature team
The Applications, Enrolment and Candidature team is dedicated to the smooth and timely processing of applications for candidature and scholarships, as well as enrolment and variation to candidature such as changes in supervision, study load, leave of absence, and extension of candidature.
Progress and Examinations team
The Progress and Examinations team is in place to ensure graduate researchers are making timely progress toward their degree. They manage and support the biannual Research Progress Panel procedure. The team is also the coordinator of the examinations process.
College Liaison team
The College Liaison team is made up of two specialised College groups. Each group is embedded within the two Colleges of La Trobe University: The College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce (ASSC) and the College of Science, Health and Engineering (SHE).
The College Liaison team is in place to provide face-to-face support and advice to graduate research supervisors, coordinators and students. They provide liaison between the central GRS team and academic staff on all aspects of HDR candidature management.
Research Education and Development (RED) team
The Graduate Research School's Research Education and Development (RED) team supports and assists La Trobe graduate researchers and academic staff in:
- establishing quality research practices,
- developing strategies for success in research publication and funding,
- gaining insight into researcher career paths and industry sectors,
- and practising excellent research communication skills.

Policy, Communication and Partnerships team
The Policy, Communication and Partnerships team is in place to review and improve the processes around graduate research administration; ensures supervisors and students are kept informed about all opportunities and programs on offer through the GRS, and; establishes new industry and international partnerships.
