Calendar of EventsRED offers a number of skills development classes and information sessions for La Trobe University research staff and HDR scholars. Use the colour coding legend at the top of the 2013 Calendar of Events [PDF 945KB] to locate information about sessions specificially for HDR Supervisors, Early Career Researchers, HDR Scholars, Academic Staff and Academic Researchers. Some sessions are available for both Academic Staff and HDR Scholars to attend. Register for these courses at Research Smart Seminar Series. |

Library resources
The University Library offers classes on tools useful to your research including:
- EndNote
- Word long documents
- NVivo
- Researching with Google Scholar
The Library also offers the LibSkills guide to library research, the LibAnswers Q&A section, and the live LibChat service.
You can book a personal consultation with a faculty librarian.
Online ethics courses
Four online courses will be available later this year:
- Working with Recombinant DNA
- Human ethics
- Conduct of research
- Animal ethics
The Research Compliance Unit also offers a number of ethics resources.
Thesis Write-Up Scholarships
Elite Editing has established a Thesis Write-Up Scholarship, which provides $6000 of financial assistance to postgraduate students who do not hold another scholarship (or $3,600 to students who already hold another scholarship) to free them from paid employment so they may focus on the completion of their thesis for a period of 12 weeks.
