Julian's role is to initiate and support the establishment of new research collaborations and assist in maintaining and extending existing research collaborations between research groups at the University and counterparts overseas, and to support research groups to develop proposals for research funding from appropriate agencies in Australia and China. Julian also promotes and manages professional short course training programs at the University for Chinese scholars to improve English proficiency and engage in academic exchange activities with La Trobe staff. Julian joined La Trobe in 2000 as Manager of Offshore Education. He has a Bachelor of Engineering from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University of China, a Master of Engineering from Swinburne, and is currently finalising his PhD.
