Research Quality & AnalysisThe Research Quality and Analysis Unit is responsible for coordinating the collection of data relating to the University's key research performance indicators. This data forms the basis of essential external reporting requirements such as the Higher Education Research Data Collection and the Excellence in Research for Australia initiative. The unit also maintains the University's research information management system through which it provides reports on research performance for internal use. HERDC - Higher Education Research Data CollectionThe HERDC is comprised of two components – research income and research publications. Along with research student data these three measures are essential in determining the University's Federal research block grant allocations. The RQA unit coordinates the collection of this data in collaboration with numerous Publication Coordinators within Faculties and other staff. More information. ERA - Excellence in Research for AustraliaThe Excellence in Research for Australia initiative, developed by the Australian Research Council in conjunction with the DIISRTE assesses research quality using a combination of metrics and expert review by committees comprising experienced, internationally recognised experts. More information. RESEARCH DATA AND ANALYSISThe University's Research Information Management System is based on the ResearchMaster database. There are also additional modules, some proprietory others developed in house, which in combination with ResearchMaster and other data sources (Finance, People, SISOne) assist the RQA unit to meet its external and internal reporting obligations. The unit is responsible for maintaining and developing the system with a view to complying with the present and future requirements of the Higher Education Research sector. More information.
