PIVOT/COS

La Trobe University has a licence for the PIVOT/COS international database of 25,000 grants, worth billions of dollars. The database also has profiles of La Trobe University and International researchers.

To Register for PIVOT/COS (as LTU staff member or postgraduate student) you must be:
  • on a LTU computer initially, and
  • are advised NOT to use your usual LTU password (which expires every 3 months)
Searching for funding and profiles is easily done by Keywords and searches can be limited by
  • location (e.g. probably research activity in Australia)
  • other Eligibility criteria (e.g. post grad scholarship, travel, etc).
PIVOT/COS lists grants by their Title, and has
  • a useful Abstract
  • the dollar value
  • deadline
  • Sponsor's proper name and direct link to the grant website.
You can
  • save and track searches and set up a personalized Alert service
  • form a personal database of grants of interest
  • email grants of relevance to other researchers
