Assessing opportunities

Reported inventions are assessed by a case manager and by a review panel comprised of other case managers and external advisers.

Due diligence issues are addressed (e.g., inventorship, third party interests, disclosures), as well as prior art and commercial potential.

The case managers will also undertake preliminary searches of published patents and market information using public on-line search engines and databases and information services to which we subscribe. These resources may also be of use to you in planning your research or checking on potential prior art.

If there is a clear commercial opportunity the case manager will work with you to define R&D objectives, where applicable, and a commercialisation plan.
