Australian Research Council (ARC) Schemes - Linkage Projects

The Linkage Projects scheme supports collaborative research and development projects between higher education organisations and other organisations, including within industry, to enable the application of advanced knowledge to problems. Typically, research projects funded under the scheme involve risk.

Proposals for funding under Linkage Projects must involve a collaborating organisation from outside the higher education sector. The collaborating organisation must make a significant contribution (equal to, or greater than, the ARC funding), in cash and/or in kind, to the project.

Under the Linkage Projects scheme, the ARC offers postgraduate awards and fellowships to provide industry-oriented research training and enable postdoctoral researchers to pursue internationally competitive research opportunities in collaboration with industry.

Linkage-Projects - Applications for funding to commence in 2010 Round 1

** latest news **
- Instructions to Applicants (Round 1) documentation is available on ARC website. Print and keep handy as you create your application. Owing to the issues experienced across the board with RMS to date, Round 2 documentation may be substantially revised. Applicants are advised to check for updates on the ARC site.

- all paperwork for this Round will be via the new ARC application systems RMS, see links below (GAMS will no longer be used for any ARC applications).

- Please register your intent to apply so that we can keep you updated with new developments.

- Interested applicants are advised to organise dates NOW for signatures/ related paperwork with investigators and partners in your project team as this often takes longer than anticipated.

- Applicants are advised to pay close attention to the 2010 Funding Rules section 11 and Appendix E as the application process is now very different.

Information session details
Sept (TBC) - Interested applicants are invited to a live demonstration and training session on the new RMS application system the ARC has built to replace GAMS. No RSVP required, all welcome.

This session will focus on creating an actual Linkage Projects application (combining elements of the other sessions listed below) but applicants of all current ARC schemes are welcome.  Even though the demonstration should be completed in about 40 mins there will be plenty of time for questions for as long as needed (at least another hour).  Please note this session will only be run once and it is vital for applicants of ARC schemes to gain an overview of the new system.  If you would like to log in and test drive RMS before this session (highly recommended so that you have questions), please see below:
Existing GAMS Users - If you had a GAMS user account prior to January 2009, your GAMS ID and profile have been copied to RMS.  Your RMS User ID will be the same as your GAMS ID with all letters capitalised, and the password reset.  Please follow the instructions on this link to change your password and update your details.

Brand New Users - click on the 'Request New Account' link at the bottom of the screen on this link and complete the online form
