NH&MRC

The National Health and Medical Research Council is the federal authority responsible for regulations regarding the use of animals in research and teaching.

OGTR

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator develops regulations and provides advice regarding genetic modifications of animals.

AFFA

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry deals with all aspects of plant and animal safety.

AQIS

The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service provides information on the import / export of animals and tissue and issues relevant permits.
