Research Ethics and IntegrityRecombinant DNA ResearchWorking with Recombinant DNA Training ModuleThe 'Working with Recombinant DNA' training module is designed for all personnel working with GMOs and/or requiring access to OGTR certified facilities at La Trobe. All personnel listed on NLRDs or licensed dealings must successfully completed the 'Working with Recombinant DNA' module. Personnel not conducting research involving gene technology but working within or requiring acces to OGTR certified physical containment facilities, must also complete the 'Working with Recombinant DNA' module. The La Trobe 'Working with Recombinant DNA' training module is now available via the Research Compliance Unit (RCU) – Training Online site. To activate a new account:
Once your account is activated you will be able to logon to the RCU - Training Online site and complete the 'Working with Recombinant DNA' module. A copy of your completion certificate should be provided to the manager of each certified facility you require access to, the supervisor of the NLRD or licensed dealing you are associated with, and placed in the facility certification folder. In addition, La Trobe Health and Safety provides a variety of training modules and information sessions throughout the year. Together the modules aim to ensure researchers and students are informed, prepared and trained before commencing work with GMOs, hazardous materials or within certified facilities.
