Research Ethics and IntegrityRecombinant DNA ResearchPhysical Containment Level 2The majority of NLRDs must be conducted in a certified PC2 facility. There are 7 types of PC2 facilities, classified with respect to the type of GMOs contained within. Guidelines and checklists for the 4 types of facilities present at La Trobe University are provided below. For all other facility types please refer to the OGTR website. GMSC Requirements for PC2 FacilitiesThe GMSC conducts annual inspections of all PC2 facilities to ensure they are compliant. A facility manual will be issued to all PC2 facilities to assist in maintaining all relevant records and will be a single reference point for students, staff, GMSC members and OGTR auditors. All staff must also be suitably trained in PC2 requirements via successful completion of the Physical Containment online training module.
