Application/Reporting and Procedures

The following documents are important for the application process and maintaining approval for recombinant DNA research projects:

New Application Forms & Guidelines

For all new dealings researchers must complete and submit an application form. To determine the type of dealing please refer to the following links:

• Exempt Dealings
• Notifiable Low Risk Dealings (NLRD)
• Dealings Not involving Intentional Release (DNIR)
• Dealings involving Intentional Release (DIR)

Modification

Should there be minor changes to procedure, changes in personnel, extension of GMSC approval etc then an application to modify the project may be sufficient.

Multi-centre Project with External Chief Investigator

Should La Trobe University staff or facilities be involved with projects assessed by an external Institutional Biosafety Committee then the GMSC is required to review the project.

Progress / Final Reports

All NLRD GMSC approved projects are required to submit annual progress reports by the 31 January.

All GMSC approved projects are required to complete and submit a final report within 3 months of the project completion date.
