Postgraduate Writing-up Award

Introduction

The Postgraduate Writing-up Award is a competitive award that provides scholarships to a small number of PhD students to enable them to write-up their doctoral research for publication about the time it is being examined. Publication is often (but not restricted to) scholarly journal articles and conference papers.

The Higher Degrees Committee (Research) makes the awards four times a year to students who have applied by the relevant closing date. Students may apply twice and may apply about the same time as, or after, completing a Notice of Intention to Submit a Higher Degree Thesis for Examination form (NOI).

Payment of the award is made fortnightly over eight weeks, and begins within two weeks of the offer of an award or the date the thesis is submitted.

Applicants should read the conditions of the award included in the information document which can be downloaded from this page - links below.

Please note the University is not currently accepting applications for the Award.
