Jingyi Du joined the RCLT in August 2006 after completion of her MA thesis in Tsinghua University. For her PhD dissertation, she is working on a descriptive grammar of the Barok language under the supervision of Professor R.M.W. Dixon.
The Barok language is an Austronesian language spoken in New Ireland Province, Papua New Guinea. About 2,000 speakers from 12 villages speak two main dialects: Central Barok (Northern Barok) and Usen Barok.
