RCLT rooms

RCLT is housed in a refurbished 1950s building, north of the La Trobe University main campus. There are twenty six offices, one Photocopy Room, one Resource Room, one Reading Room, two kitchen areas, toilets, and a common area upstairs for meals which doubles as a general meeting place for informal discussions.

Each office is equipped with a PC computer connected to the network, a telephone, extra desktop space and bookshelves. There is also a ceiling fan and heating in all offices to create a comfortable working environment. Under University policy, all University buildings are smoke-free zones, and this includes the RCLT building.

There are three network printers in the building, a photocopier, a fax machine, a scanner and various audio equipment to aid in data analysis such as audio recorders, video cameras etc. Appropriate software to deal with digital sound and video recordings is also available at the Centre.

Scholars from other universities who undertake research on language description and in typological issues are encouraged to consider spending their sabbatical at the Centre. For more information, please email Prof Randy LaPolla on r.lapolla @latrobe.edu.au to discuss possibilities.
