Interests

Fran McInerney is a registered nurse and a sociologist. She holds postgraduate qualifications in nursing, education, social science, and public health. She is a part-time lecturer in the La Trobe University Palliative Care Unit, and also works in palliative care nursing practice on a part-time basis. Her research interests include social constructions of death and dying, the media, health workers in palliative contexts, qualitative methodologies, health sociology, novice practice, the nexus between aged and palliative care, and requested death.
