Professor Vivian Lin and colleagues (Sally Fawkes, Jonathan Ehsani, Dr Sophie Hill, Dr Greg Murphy, Dr Sandra Leggat, Dr Chaojie Liu, Dr Bruce Rumbold, Rebecca Ryan, and Genevieve Howse) examined the scope of the issue, from the patient, to the various indivdiual, health system, and societal forces that influence the nature and effectiveness of the clinical encounter, to possible strategies for improving current health care practices. They also suggested some possible ways forward for the WHO in championing this direction of work.
