Summary

The study of mood changes associated with exercise has potential implications for improving exercise adherence rates. While changes in mood after exercise have been examined extensively, relatively few studies have examined mood during exercise. As well, possibly as a consequence of several design limitations, findings from this research have been inconsistent. Studies conducted by Dr Paul O'Halloran have focused on the systematic investigation of mood changes during running and the potential moderators of these mood changes.
