Dr Yan Zhang

PhD Thesis, completed in 2006

Zhang Yan was a surgeon from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, P.R.China, who came to Australia to complete his PhD. He always said he was happy to be undertaking his postgraduate study at La Trobe University. After nearly 10 years of surgical work in China, Zhang Yan began to think about how the rational antibiotic use of surgeons could be improved. Antibiotic resistance is becoming one of the most serious problems in the world and many leading medical researchers and organizations are devoted to this area. Zhang Yan's thesis was completed in 2005 and he is now back in China with his family.
