Dr Hongwen Zhao

PhD Thesis

Dr. Hongwen Zhao was a PhD student from China, who also undertook the Master of Public Health, Master of Biostatistics, and Bachelor of Medicine. Hongwen has worked as Project Manager in the Foreign Loan Office (FLO) of China’s Ministry of Health (MOH), Health Specialist/Operations Officer at the World Bank Resident Mission in China (RMC), and Project Officer at FLO/MOH, where he was responsible for managing the Rural Health & Medical Education Projects. Hongwen’s studies focused on urban health policy formation and reform policy, governing the market, and the roles of the market and state. Some useful experiences were his involvement of World Bank China health sector studies, which give the insight on China issues over the economic transitional period, and link the health issues to the structural set ups.

Hongwen is still associated with La Trobe University. He is currently an Honorary Associate in the School of Public Health's China Health Program.
