Health Information Managers work in the "business" side of healthcare.
They work in many areas including e-health (electronic health
information) health classification and health research.
From 2009, La Trobe University is offering a new Health Information Management professional qualification.
This exciting degree, is unique. It opens
the door to a vast range of career opportunities in health.
The Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Health Information Management will run over four years. After a comprehensive grounding, students in their final year can concentrate on one or two specialised areas. One of these is Health Informatics where cutting-edge IT meets Health Information Management. The course includes hands-on practical experience and a mentor scheme which links students with the profession.
Apply through VTAC, transfer from another course or come in as a mature age student (the Selection Committee will be interested in your previous studies and work experience).
