What is HIMSA?
- HIMSA stands for Health Information Management Student Association.
- The association is run entirely by students for the students of the BHIM single and double-degree.
- Being part of HIMSA is open to any interested student of any year level. Third or fourth year students generally hold committee positions but this is not restrictive.
- HIMSA generally functions as a social committee, and through fundraising activities, aims to provide social events where students from all year levels can start to build networks and relationships that will be beneficial in their working careers.
- Encourages students to become active and have more of a say in issues related to the HIM course.
- Aims to advocate on behalf of students to address academic issues and concerns.
- HIMSA provides a representative of the BHIM degree at other student associations such as the Student Representative Council (SRC)
HIMSA 2006-07
Commitee
- Aldo Pirona (President)
- Cheens Lee (Treasurer)
- Brooke Macpherson/Sally Bray (Joint-Secretaries)
