Research specialisations

The School of Psychological Science currently has four key areas of research concentration within the general area of environmental and biological psychology:

Clinical and health psychology

Our research covers areas such as conflict resolution, eating and mood disorders, dementia, and psychosocial factors in chronic and terminal illness.

Cognitive and developmental psychology

We research the social, emotional, cognitive and perceptual development of children; Autism Spectrum Disorders; and psychosis.

Neuroscience and neuropsychology

Researching areas such as developmental disorders, memory formation and pain perception.

Social psychology

Our research covers social psychological approaches to understanding the world and dealing with social issues.
