Networked Fire Chief - Minimum Requirements

Development of the Networked Fire Chief program has been funded by the Australian Defence Force and the Australian Research Council for the purpose of conducting research into basic issues relating to command and control decision making. The program has now been extensively used for research, both in Australia and in Europe. It can, however, be equally well customised for use in specific training contexts (e.g. as a training tool for management personnel)

Minimum Requirements

The minumum requirements for running Networked Fire Chief are;

 
  • Pentium 150
  • Windows 9x/Me
  • 16MB RAM
  • 35MB Free Hard Disk Space
  

Recommended system requirements are;

 
  • Pentium 200 MMX
  • Windows 9x/Me
  • 32MB RAM
  • 40MB Free Hard Disk Space
 

N.B. Networked Fire Chief can be run under the Windows NT operating system, although distributed simulations (more than one computer station networked) are not recommended. Future developments of Networked Fire Chief aim to make it fully compatible with Windows NT. Until then, single station Networked Fire Chief simulations can be created and run under Windows NT. However, distributed simulations can be created but not run under Windows NT, they must be run under Windows9x/ME.
