School of Psychological Science
Bachelor of Psychological Science
COURSE
DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Psychological Science (BPsySc) is a coherent program of study
in psychology and other subjects considered central to broad education
in behavioural science. As well as completing a major sequence in psychology,
students study subjects that relate to the biological and social aspects
of behaviour.
The course prepares students for professional
training in a range of areas of psychology, including clinical and health
psychology and can lead to careers in education, personnel, management
and research, fields where psychology graduates are currently gaining
employment in a variety of roles. The BPsySc and BPsySc (Honours) courses
are fully accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council
and recognised by the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria.
It is important to emphasize that the BPsySc
degree alone does not qualify
a graduate to work as a psychologist. Further education, training and
supervised experience is required for registration as a psychologist with
the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria and also for membership
of the Australian Psychological Society.
Detailed information of the course structure
can be found in the University
