Teaching Responsibilities
- British 19th Century History
- Australian 19th Century History
- United States History Research interests
Research Interests
Include religion in the l8th Century, especially the role of the ideas of Emanuel Swedenborg in the 'covert' Enlightenment in England and on 19th Century Spiritualism in Australia, the U.S. and Britain; and biography in History. I am currently combining these interests in a major study of the relationship between psychical research and the budding discipline of psychology in the late Victorian period.
