Philosophy and Religious Studies

Honours Program

Our Honours program consists of a further year of study after the completion of an undergraduate degree, pursuing further course work and research in the subject area in which the student has majored at undergraduate level (in this case, Philosophy & Religious Studies).

The Honours year entails two course-work units and the writing of a minor thesis (12-15,000 words) on a research topic negotiated with a supervisor.

The units available for study in the course work include:

*Dead Sea Scrolls

*Issues in Roman Philosophy

*From Theology to Philosophy

*The Humanities in a Scientific Age

Students who have completed undergraduate Arts degrees elsewhere, with strong academic results, are invited to apply for entry to the Honours course.
