I’m currently in my Honours year of Computer Science degree specialising in games technology. I have had a fantastic experience studying at La Trobe and I’m looking forward to using all the knowledge and skills I’ve learnt in the workplace.

I gained work experience with PIVOT Maritime as part of La Trobe's industry based learning (IBL) program.

The knowledge I have gained during this Computer Science in Games Technology degree is directly translatable to the work required at Pivot Maritime, where my primary role was to maintain and create ship and boat simulators.

If you’re interested in a course, have a good look at ALL of the subjects you will be taking, not just the first year, first semester subjects. It’s good to know what you will be taking from second year onwards, as you can shape your assignments and learning in that direction from the very beginning of your course.

The lecturers and tutors are friendly, accessible and flexible, which makes completing lab work and assignments much easier. I think this rubs off on the students as well, as there have been countless times where more experienced students have helped my with my studies.

Since I started at La Trobe I’ve had to balance various roles and commitments, and I enjoy sharing my experience and giving advice to new and potential students.
