Dr. Karl Landorf
Karl has extensive clinical trial experience with a particular interest in investigating interventions used in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders of the foot and ankle. He has a passion for conducting high quality clinical trials that evaluate patient outcomes from a health status/health-related quality of life perspective. His main area of research thus far has focused on the evaluation of the effectiveness of foot orthoses, although he also has experience investigating other interventions used in the management of musculoskeletal disorders affecting the lower extremity. Karl is currently involved in a number of research projects, including clinical trials (evaluating treatments for plantar heel pain and painful callus); calculating Minimal Important Differences for commonly used outcome measurements; electromyographic activity of the tibialis posterior muscle; and osteoarthritis in the foot (X-ray evaluation and evaluating viscosupplementation).
