Symptoms Patient may complain of tightness, numbness or pain in the dorsal and/or plantar aspect of the second metatarsophalangeal joint and digit.
Active or latent TrPs commonly occur in the presence of digital deformities.
Trigger Point Examination
Dorsal and plantar interossei are considered as a functional unit because of the impossibility of palpating each one individually.
Taut bands may be palpated against the adjacent metatarsal.
Associated Trigger Points
Usually, several deep intrinsic muscles are involved simultaneously.
