General Information
Podiatry is the health care profession concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and management of disorders of the foot and ankle. La Trobe University's Health Sciences Clinic is a teaching, learning, and research facility where podiatry students gain clinical experience in diagnosis and client management. This facility has 17 individual consulting rooms, 2 paediatric consulting rooms, an operating theatre (with setup, recovery and scrub rooms), a fully functional orthoses laboratory, a plaster casting room, a 40 seat lecture room and numerous other ancilliary rooms. All students are supervised by a registered podiatrist.

A referral is not required.

Why See A Podiatrist?
People of any age and in various states of health may need to see a podiatrist for a wide range of problems. These may include young children who show unusual walking patterns, athletes suffering from foot problems arising from structural dysfunction or from overuse associated with their sport, occupational related disorders, or the elderly suffering from conditions associated with a lifetime of wearing ill-fitting or unsuitable footwear. Podiatrists are trained in managing a wide and varied range of foot problems.
