Osteoarthritis - Midfoot

Narrowing of the joint space obvious in the 2nd metatarsal - medial cuneiform joint as compared to the Talo navicular articulation (left).

Compare lack of joint space in the 2nd metatarsal - intermediate cuneiform joint to the surrounding joints which are unaffected by degeneration, with subchondral sclerosis also present (right). Other joints within the image are relatively unaffected.

Significant degeneration could be due to a variety of causes. Narrowed /obliterated joint space, subchondral sclerosis and dorsal lipping of both navicular and talus.

Both the talonavicular and 1st metatarsal - medial cuneiform joints show signs of osteoarthritis.
