Metatarsal Fractures

 

Unfixed osteotomies are more at risk of developing deformity and nonunion. Increased callous formation is attempt of body to stabilise fragments.

 No evidence of fracture on the AP view (left), fracture obvious from Oblique view (right).

 

Fracture difficult to visualise (unless of course someone has been as kind as to circle it, as in this example).
