Foot
manipulation is a treatment
modality for improvement of mechanical malalignment of the foot.
It involves physical manipulation of joints and regular follow up
strengthening and stretching exercises by the patient. In some cases
manipulation can supplement traditional treatment such as Orthotic
therapy and surgical intervention.

Pre
and Post Manipulation X-Rays
The
podiatrist has used the collum tali axis and 1st metatarsal axis
as a reference point for analysing the sagittal plane alignment
of the head and neck of the talus. The angle made by the collum
tali axis and the second metatarsal axis is used as a reference
point for analysing the tranverse plane alignment of the head and
neck of the talus.
