Dislocations
& Subluxations
A
dislocation results when there is complete loss of contact between
two osseous surfaces where they normally articulate. A subluxation
is a partial loss of the contact between these surfaces.
Dislocation
of the second proximal phalanx on the second metatarsal
head, plantarward. Most obvious because the phalanx is
shortened compared to the third.
|
Medial
dislocation of the second phalanx on the metatarsal head.
|
Plantar
subluxation of the navicular on the talar head, also plantar
subluxation of the cuboid at the calcaneocuboid joint.
|
Lisfranc
fracture/dislocation. Involving lateral subluxation of
metatarsals (most obvious of the first in this case) also
fracture of the second and medial subluxation of the navicular
on the head of the talus.

Plantar
subluxation of the navicular.
