HAV - Stage 4

This stage is characterised by partial or complete dislocation upon the first metatarsal head.

This example shows stage 4 hallux abducto valgus (complete dislocation) despite an earlier attempt at reconstruction utilising joint arthroplasty. The fractured remnants of silicon hemi implants can be seen. Surgical resection of the lesser metatarsal heads has also been performed

Note: Given the substantial surgical interventions, these radiographs are not the best examples of the 4th stage of HAV.
