Study at La Trobe IS different!
Larger physics departments can be impersonal, making the transition from school to university harder than it needs to be.
At La Trobe, you will not only have the usual lectures and laboratories to attend, but you will be assisted by taking part in a weekly tutorial. Tutorials are a feature of all our subjects so that, right from day one, you could find yourself in a small group tutorial interacting directly with senior academic staff.
The small group philosophy also extends to the practical classes where you will be assisted, in groups usually no larger than 16, by graduate students who have probably taken the same classes as yours just a few years ago.
Web-based learning, on-line lectures and ready access to computers are some of the advantages available to physics students at La Trobe.
