Research centres
The Department of Physics plays a key role in a number of internationally recognised research centres, in particular, in the fields of condensed matter physics, X-ray science and surface science:
- ARC Centre of Excellence in Coherent X-ray Science
- Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF)
- ANFF – Victoria and the Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN)
- Victorian Centre for Advanced Materials Manufacturing (VCAMM)
The Department of Physics also hosts the Centre for Materials and Surface Science (CMSS).
CMSS is an interdisciplinary University Research Centre with a world-class surface science capability, bringing together researchers with similar interests from across the Faculty.
