Publication Award
An unlimited publication award of $500 per refereed article or book chapter published while at La Trobe. Applies to publications which fall into specified DETYA research publication categories (A1-A4, B, C1-C3, E1, E2 and E4.
Research Support
Faculty and School research grants are available for staff and postgraduate students. Research grants are available from the Faculty and School.
Supervison
Supervison by two academic staff members who are committed to being available for frequent consultation. University regulations state that you should, if full-time, be seeing your supervisor at least once a month. Please note that staff may be on leave or secondment at various times. Prospective students interested in working with a staff member should make enquiries to the Program or to the individual staff member before applying for admission or for a scholarship.
Teaching
Postgraduate students in Philosophy are given the opportunity to tutor and to have professional teacher training and feed-back through the Academic Development Unit. In some cases limited lecturing experience may be possible.
Seminars
An active, friendly and supportive postgraduate group run their own fortnightly postgraduate seminars.
Postgraduate students are also encouraged to attend the weekly Philosophy staff seminars.
