The material in this book is intended for students in computer science who want to do symbolic processing in a conventional language, and for students in logic and linguistics who wish to learn how to write programs in their field. The programming language PASCAL is used throughout, but this is not a text book about PASCAL. The programs range from very easy to quite difficult; but except for the last ones, most are not very long. Many chapters deal with material not found in other text books.
I am still using the material in some of the chapters in a course. So for those chapters the Pascal programs and some answers to exercises are not included yet. Probably they will be made available towards the end of 2003.
