The VCE Philosophy Support Program 2009

 

It’s back by popular demand! The La Trobe University Philosophy Program is excited to announce that it will once again be offering VCE Teachers an opportunity to attend the VCE Philosophy Support Program this December.

The VCE Philosophy Support Program is scheduled to take place at La Trobe University, Bundoora Campus, from Tuesday 8th to Friday 11th December.

The four day intensive program will be split into two streams: Year 11 and Year 12 units. There will be two half day courses offered to both streams, dedicated to Reason and Argument and Writing Essays in Philosophy.

The fees for the Four Day Intensive Program for 2009 will be $450 per person.
Fees for the Half Day Short Courses will be $100 per session.

Ph.D. and Masters Research Program in Environmental Culture and Sustainability

SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE - Closes August 30th

Starting in 2010: Ph.D. and Masters Research Program in Environmental Culture and Sustainability. In this new area we are seeking research proposals that explore the new social, aesthetic, ethical and cultural understandings needed if sustainability is to become the underlying ethos of contemporary civilizations.

A scholarship is now available for post-graduate work in this program. The Philosophy Department invites prospective post-graduate students in the Humanities and Social Science who are interested in environmental issues to apply. The program is interdisciplinary and is open to all students who have a B.A. in a humanities or social science discipline. Applications close 31 August.
