Postgraduate students informationThe School of Pharmacy and Applied Science is part of the Faculty of Science Technology and Engineering and offers research-based postgraduate programs leading to Master of Applied Science and Doctor of Philosophy. Postgraduate programs are advanced research degrees that require the submission of a thesis describing original research work carried out under supervision during candidature of up to eighteen months (MAppSC) to three years (PhD). Applicants normally have an Honours Degree in Pharmacy, Applied Science, Science, or an equivalent degree. Candidates with H1 equivalence are eligible to apply for a scholarship. For further details consult the information at the Research and Graduate Studies Office. For assistance with applications, contact the campus Faculty Office. In the School of Pharmacy and Applied Science, new postgraduate candidates are assigned a laboratory workspace and reading area. All candidates have access to computing facilities including internet access. The School provides free photocopying, telephone and fax facilities. All postgraduate candidates are required to undergo an induction process whereby they are trained in laboratory safety, school procedures and university regulations. Periodic review of a candidate's safety in the laboratory is undertaken by the School Occupational Health and Safety Officer. Non compliance with these processes can affect a candidate's access to laboratory facilities and ultimately their academic progress. Content Approved by: Head of School
