Research Interests

Heterocyclic Synthesis and Spectroscopy (using 1  H and 13C NMR, Mass, FTIR, UV, HPLC, and GC) and testing for the biological effect of selected products.
The direct use of 2-(hydroxy, thio, or amino) aromatic/heteroaromatic / 3-oxo carboxylic acids in the synthesis of 1,3-benzoxazine, 1,3-benzothiazine, quinazoline and 1,3- oxazine derivatives respectivly. These products can be used in the development of potent antiplatelet drugs.
The reactions of 1,3-oxazines with primary amines to give N-salicyloyl N-amino thiourea which show antimicrobial activity.
The reactions aryl carbamate with R (CO) CH (X)(CO) Cl then attempting cyclization of the products which could lead 5,6-dihydro-2H-1,3-benzoxazocine-2,4(3H)-dione as non-addictive analgesics , Nefopam analogue.
