Enterprise Bargaining Agreement

Enterprise Bargaining Negotiations

We are delighted to confirm that the NTEU, CPSU and LHMU have formally ratified the new enterprise agreement for La Trobe University. As advised on 9 October the new agreement delivers key staff benefits, such as a 16% pay increase and improved employment continuity for many fixed term contract staff.

The agreement has been achieved through cooperative negotiations with a team from People and Culture representing the University and a representative team from the NTEU La Trobe Branch.

Information sessions presented jointly by La Trobe and the NTEU on the new agreement will be held on all campuses. Details of the sessions are at http://www.latrobe.edu.au/pc/eba/eba-information-sessions.htm

The proposed agreement is available at http://www.latrobe.edu.au/pc/eba/ltu-enterprise-agreement-27-10-09.pdf, (Word version (1MB)) a summary of key provisions is available at http://www.latrobe.edu.au/pc/eba/eba-summary-of-key-provisions.htm. We encourage you to review the details of the agreement - it will apply to your employment.

All staff, including currently employed casual staff (but not including any staff of La Trobe University International College, who are covered by a separate agreement, Deputy Vice-Chancellors or the Vice-Chancellor), can vote for the agreement. The vote will occur from 23 - 27 November by online voting. For the agreement to be passed, a majority of staff must vote "yes". After the agreement is approved by staff, it will be submitted to Fair Work Australia for approval. The agreement starts 7 days after approval is given.

If you have questions about the agreement or the voting process, please email eba-feedback@latrobe.edu.au .
