Philippines and Australia Seminar: 8 May 2006
A seminar entitled Philippines and Australia - social research, agenda and connections was organized jointly with the School of Social Sciences with the following speakers: Prof Filomeno ‘Jun’ V. Aguilar, Professor in the Department of History, Ateneo de Manila University, and Director of the Philippines-Australia Studies Network - The Invention of Philippine Citizenship; Dr Czarina Saloma-Akpedonu, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology & Anthropology, Ateneo de Manila University, and President of the Philippine Sociological Society - Possible Worlds in Impossible Spaces: Knowledge, Globality, Gender, and Information Technology in the Philippines.

Noosphere:
November 2006 – January 2007
Pablo Kang, Deputy Ambassador, Australian Embassy, Manila, opened the exhibit Noosphere by Neil Fettling on January 11, 2007 at the Ateneo Art Gallery. This exhibit was part of a three-year Arts Linkages Program (2007-2009) established between La Trobe University and Ateneo de Manila University that will include exchange of artists, scholars, students and Art Museum Collections, as well as special colloquia and public lectures. Neil Fettling, a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator in the School of Visual Arts and Design at the Mildura Campus, was the first artist-in-residence to visit Ateneo de Manila University under this program initiated by PASC. During his three-month stint at the University from November 2006, Neil also taught a full semester course to Masters students in their Fine Arts program.
