Professional development short course for community practitioners

The course is a comprehensive 3 day workshop for community and economic development practitioners working in local government, community organisations, community centres, and state or federal agencies.

The short course covers ‘real world’ issues in community development using case studies and practitioner experiences from Australia and overseas. It provides a wide range of tools for community engagement, economic analysis, supporting community action and fostering community participation.

Over 500 people have attended the short course in Australia over the last five years.

About the Speaker – Dr Jim Cavaye

Jim Cavaye is one of Australia’s leading community development practitioners and educators and has worked with over 100 communities and organisations across Australia.

He has a Ph.D. from the United States in community development and is an international speaker and author.
