Howard Nicholas works in the area of languages education. His particular expertise is in the different aspects of multilingual education, whether in support of primary languages programs, English as an additional language programs in schools and for adults, or for bilingual education involving multiple languages.He has taught in university programs in Australia, Germany, the USA, Canada, Vietnam and China. He has delivered professional development and consultancy advice to schools, educational jurisdictions and universities in Australia, Indonesia and Vietnam. He has led and worked in state, national and international teams that have looked at languages education curriculum, languages teacher education and supply, providing support for English as an additional language students in schools and professional development for teachers of various languages.He has given advice to individual schools about organising languages programs and delivered professional development activities for schools and professional associations of EAL and languages teachers.
