Dr. LIU is director and associate professor of the China Health Program, where he has been teaching health policies and health services management over the past decade. He has also been appointed as Lecturing Professor in Huaxi School of Public Health at Sichuan University. Dr. Liu has research interests in Social determinants of Health, especially in the areas of primary health care system development, safety and quality of health care, health information systems, and social support and equality in health services and health outcomes. Dr. Liu has provided numerous consultancy services to health development projects in China funded by international agencies, such as the World Health Organisation, the Australian Agency for International Development, the UK Department for International Development, and the Chinese Government. He is a member of the advisory committee for patient safety in primary care for the World Health Organisation. The majority of his research projects have a focus on health policy and health system development in China. Dr. Liu has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Liu has a longstanding interest in health promotion. He is currently a board director of the Chinese Health Foundation of Australia.
