Associate Professor Catherine Lang was a government school teacher for 10 years teaching Geography, History and Information Systems. She moved from Education to Management in 1997 as the Manager of Student Matters and Offshore Programs. While in this role she completed her Master of Education. She was drawn back to academia through her love of research and joined Swinburne University as a Lecturer in the Faculty of ICT in 2001. She was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2007 and to Associate Professor 2011. Catherine was ACM-W Australian Ambassador from 2005-2011 and is active in the Women in Computing community in Australia and internationally. In 2011 and 2012 Catherine was involved in developing the Graduate Certificate in Educational technologies for in-service teachers with a particular focus on the learner-centred classroom. In 2013 Catherine moved to La Trobe University to take up her current role and follow her passion to work with pre-service teachers.
