Impact of the program

The program focuses on a cluster of subjects in the curriculum with common themes across Years 10, 11 and 12 within a highly developed and challenging learning environment.

Driven by theme-based learning, the curriculum is supplemented with student visits to La Trobe University, where they participate in workshops and lectures through a digital learning platform, The Uni Bridge. This enables communication between participating academics, teachers and students who are involved with the program.

Students enrolled in Uni Bridges may receive an early offer into selected La Trobe courses based on a school recommendation, regardless of their ATAR. The program can be considered as an alternative entry program into tertiary studies in science disciplines. Uni Bridges students can move directly into a Bachelor degree in areas of science, engineering or health sciences through the Uni Bridges pathway.

Student involvement in Uni Bridges enhances academic performance and capacity to succeed in higher education studies in the science disciplines. The program encourages students to expand their learning in areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
